Treatment tailored to you
The truth about counseling is that different forms—and there are at least 150+ forms from abreaction to transpersonal—are all nearly equally effective. Despite what we want to believe as psychologists, the most important component of effective counseling is not use of the latest, hottest brand of therapy but 1) the bond between counselor and client, 2) agreement about the goals of treatment, and 3) agreement about the tasks needed to reach those goals (Wampold, 2001). While this isn’t to say that one’s approach to therapy should be unstructured, it is to say that these three factors will always be our priority in working with you, and we will be consistently monitoring them together.
